Peat Bulk Densities
Peat cores were collected near the surface collection plates for bulk density measurements. The cores were sliced into 1 cm thick increments over the top 25 cm of peat and dried at 80 oC for 24 hrs. The material was weighed and bulk densities were determined by adjusting the dry weight for volume of material. The results of the bulk density analyses are shown in Fig. 9.
