Amphibians & Reptiles
Very few amphibians and reptiles were observed within the system. One reptile of note was a snapping turtle whose shell was approximately 24 inches in diameter. Other reptiles and amphibians are noted below. Of the amphibians none were noted below the tidegate on Rt 146. The newt was noted in the woods off the marsh above any brackish water. The reptiles were found primarily in the areas above the gates.
