Conservation Talk Series at DEEP’s Kellogg Environmental Center

Connecticut’s DEEP is sponsoring a series of free public events to mark the National Parks Conservation Association’s centennial.

Celebrating 100 Years of Conservation
Eric Hammerling, from the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association, will be speaking on the history of land conservation in Connecticut and nationally.

National Parks Conservation Association’s Centennial Celebration
We invite you to attend a talk with NPCA’s Lauren Cosgrove, to learn about the current state of our national parks and find your voice as an advocate for these amazing places. Talk will be followed by a tour of the Osborne House, in recognition of the centennial wedding anniversary of Frances Osborne Kellogg.

Pollinators Day
The center will host a collection of activities focused on celebrating our pollinators. Learn about bees, butterflies, and others that specialize in pollinating flowers. Activities include hikes, quizzes, and
participation in Citizen Science research. Families and individuals are welcome.

Time: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

All events will be held at the Kellogg Environmental Center, 500 Hawthorne Avenue, Derby CT ( Handicapped parking available. The Kellogg Center is wheelchair  accessible, the museum is not. For additional needs contact Sue Quincy
