The May 6 Fish Report shows that the Queach Brook migration is holding steady at 200-300 fish climbing the Supply Ponds dam fishway each week. Branford’s number last Tuesday was 1,291, more than double the numbers the previous two years. Statewide, numbers at most locations are lagging behind last year’s numbers, possibly due to colder water temperatures and higher flow rates.

Don’t forget that May 24 World Fish Migration Day. Branford will be holding an open house at the fishway from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, one of several events around the state. Click here for more information about the World Fish Migration Day events.
